AAA/AAT - Animal Assisted Activities / Therapy creates a bond between the individual and animal, generating a state of calm. This enriching therapeutic experience helps both physical and mentally. AAA / AAT are delivered using a choice of reptile, amphibians and insects , who work in synchrony to enhance the child’s/young person's social, emotional and cognitive functioning during the therapeutic process. Jupiter our young Labrador is happy to join in the sessions.
Being with animals teaches empathy and compassion, bringing nature back to the individual's front door. With a sense of ease, emotional wellbeing and regulation, sensory regulation, social skills, fine and gross motor skills, are just a few skills which are enhanced during the process.
Counselling combined with play and creative therapeutic tactics, with the presence of an animal has a positive impact on those in need of assistance, whilst on their educational or mental wellbeing journey, offering support for individual children within schools and at home.
Kids Critters offers children and young people with special needs, personalised interventions, which also includes strategies and support for parents and caregivers. Interventions are commonly blanketed across home and school environments. If wanted, Animal Assisted Activities/Therapy can be incorporated into the interventions, alongside play and creative therapeutic strategies. To name a few approaches in one to one sessions.
